The date is approaching fast and we’re making preparations. Don’t miss out!
Have fun exploring off the beaten path places while building confidence in yourself and your machine. Explore the beauty of the Ozarks while learning to mitigate the risks associated with back country bush flying under the tutelage of experienced instructors and the safety and camaraderie of fellow SeaRey pilots.
June 4: Rendezvous in Flippin AR to refuel, brief the arrival into Gastons, and back country formation flying.
June 5: After breakfast head out as a flight to Byrds Adventure Center in the heart of the Ozark Mountains for a formal ground school on backcountry and bush flying techniques followed by dual instruction and supervised solo practice on Byrds more challenging runways. Then back to Gastons for dinner and socializing.
June 6: Expect an early start for a big day practicing those backcountry skills as we hit no less than 6 back country air strips presenting a variety of challenges. From plateau landings, steep grades, obstacles and dog legs, to obscured landing areas you will gain a new appreciation for where your searey can take you! We will break up the day with some fun in the water as we hit some amazing lakes and a secluded swimming hole along the way. Bring a swim suit as we will have opportunities to stop and cool off! We will end the day back at Gastons for dinner, and drinks around the camp fire.
June 7: All good things must come to an end, this morning the choice is yours: have a leisurely morning enjoying Gastons, or get after it and hit a few spots on the way home with new friends. The day is yours, checkout is at 11 am.
